- Overwhelm
- Procrastination
- Perfectionism

Cambridge Academic Performance fills an obvious gap that is not purely about revision
technique and is not counselling for emotional problems, but falls into the middle area of academic stress and worry that many students have to deal with.

Our Approach
We are a professional occupational therapy coaching service helping students to achieve their full potential and live healthy, happy lives.
Many students need a type of support that bridges both the study and personal development disciplines. Occupational therapy provides this type of support but is rarely available within educational settings. Created in 2013, Cambridge Academic Performance was set up to respond to this gap in the support available to students. Using a combination of coaching, supervision, mentoring and occupational therapy, our aim is to support students at all levels of their academic career.
Within the context of an increasingly competitive academic environment, maintaining robust health and a positive attitude can be a major challenge for many students. We support students to manage stress in order to achieve a resilient state of wellbeing. We believe that this is a foundation for personal and academic success. Our focus is on improving academic performance using practical techniques that change beliefs and behaviour.
Within sports, clinical and business settings, this type of support is considered essential and is the acknowledged approach to personal development and high performance under stressful conditions. The academic experience mirrors these high performance settings. It is all too easy for students to feel overwhelmed by their workload and intimidated by the achievements of others and lose sight of their own personal resources and abilities. We help student to identify their personal strengths, believe in them and build on them.
By broadening insights into their personal resources we can help students to develop resilience, to thrive and to enjoy themselves whilst doing their best work. We problem solve and find solutions using improved academic strategies. We also explore and replace unhelpful and inaccurate beliefs with newer, evidence-based, accurate and highly motivating beliefs.
These are skills that will help students throughout their lives especially as they go forward into higher education and into their careers.
The approach taken by Cambridge Academic Performance has the effect of circumventing the stigma of language and enables students to tie the support they receive to the ultimate purpose of their time in our college – academic work.
