In today’s competitive academic landscape, achieving educational excellence requires more than just subject knowledge. Students face a multitude of challenges, from stress and anxiety to procrastination and low motivation, that can hinder their performance and well-being. At Cambridge Academic Performance, we understand these obstacles and offer a comprehensive range of services designed to empower students, equipping them with the tools they need to thrive academically and personally.

A Holistic Approach to Academic Success

Our approach is rooted in the principles of occupational therapy, a discipline that recognises the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment. We believe that by addressing the underlying factors that impact a student’s ability to learn and perform, we can unlock their full potential and help them achieve their academic goals.

Bridging the Gap

Traditional educational settings often overlook the personal and emotional aspects of learning, focusing primarily on academic content. However, at Cambridge Academic Performance, we understand that a student’s well-being and mindset play a crucial role in their academic journey. Our services bridge the gap between study techniques and personal development, providing a comprehensive support system that nurtures both academic and personal growth.

A Tailored Experience

We recognise that every student is unique, with their own set of strengths, challenges, and learning styles. That’s why we offer a range of services tailored to individual needs, including online coaching sessions, workbooks, and courses for students, staff, and parents. Our aim is to create a personalised experience that resonates with each individual, empowering them to overcome their specific obstacles and achieve their full potential.

Empowering Students: A Comprehensive Approach

1. Online Coaching Sessions

Our online coaching sessions provide a safe and supportive environment for students to explore their challenges and develop effective strategies for overcoming them. Through these sessions, we help students identify their personal strengths, build resilience, and cultivate a growth mindset that fosters academic and personal success.

A Personalised Journey

Each coaching session is tailored to the individual student’s needs, ensuring a personalised and effective approach. We begin with a free 20-minute initial chat, where we discuss the student’s concerns and goals, allowing them to determine if they feel comfortable proceeding with further sessions.

Ongoing Support

We typically recommend three to six sessions, as many students find significant improvement within this timeframe. However, for those requiring more extensive support, we offer the flexibility to work with us over an extended period, ensuring they receive the guidance they need to achieve their desired outcomes.

Engaging and Insightful

Our focus is on making these sessions enjoyable, interesting, and immediately beneficial. We incorporate various techniques, such as note-taking, visual aids, and multimedia resources, to enhance the learning experience and facilitate lasting change.

“I have found our sessions so helpful and insightful, and you’ve really helped me to understand myself better, which has helped me enormously already.” – B. Boutaleb

2. Workbooks and Online Courses for Staff

Recognising the vital role that educators play in supporting students, we offer a range of workbooks and online training courses specifically designed for staff members. These resources equip teachers, support staff, and mental health professionals with the knowledge and tools to implement an occupational therapy approach within educational settings.

Practical Workbooks

Our workbooks can be downloaded, printed, or used directly with students, both individually and in classrooms. These comprehensive resources cover a wide range of topics, from managing anxiety and improving sleep to enhancing focus and productivity.

Online Training Courses

Our online training courses provide a flexible and accessible learning experience for staff members. Each course is self-paced and includes a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certificate upon completion. These courses delve into the components of our occupational therapy approach, offering insights into overcoming barriers to change, addressing common student responses, and providing additional resources for further learning.

“We found showcasing and modelling these resources to be hugely impactful. The workbooks aligned perfectly with the video content without being too onerous or overwhelming.” – Shahla Matarazzo, Deputy Principal, Designated Safeguarding Lead, Linton Village College, Cambridgeshire

3. Online Resources for Students

We understand that not all students prefer face-to-face coaching sessions. To cater to diverse learning preferences, we offer online training courses specifically designed for students. These courses focus on improving academic performance and fostering a healthy and effective approach to studying.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Our online courses cover a wide range of topics, from stress management and time management to revision techniques and exam strategies. By addressing these essential areas, we equip students with the tools they need to navigate the academic journey with confidence and resilience.

Engaging and Multimedia-Rich

Each course is enriched with additional resources, such as reading materials, YouTube clips, and interviews, to reinforce the concepts and facilitate deeper learning. We encourage students to explore these resources, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the principles and techniques presented.

“A short workshop with Cambridge Academic Performance was exceedingly helpful. Not only did it enable my friends and I to realise that we were all struggling with similar things, it offered interesting and innovative ways of dealing with them.” – Eli Keren, MSt in Creative Writing, Wolfson College, Cambridge

4. Parental Support Resources

We understand the pivotal role that parents play in supporting their children’s academic and personal growth. Our parent workbook is designed to equip parents with the knowledge and strategies they need to provide effective and nurturing support during critical periods, such as exam seasons.

Practical Guidance

Drawing from years of experience supporting students and their families, our parent workbook offers practical advice and techniques to help parents navigate the challenges their children face. It covers topics such as effective communication, active listening, and fostering a supportive environment that promotes resilience and independence.

Evidence-Based Approaches

Our workbook incorporates evidence-based approaches, such as Nancy Kline’s ‘Thinking Environments’ and the Theory of Mentalisation, to enhance parental understanding and support. By adopting these strategies, parents can create an environment that encourages their children to think for themselves, develop resilience, and feel supported throughout their academic journey.

“We’ve had some very positive comments with regard to the content, and I know that our parents valued your professional advice and insight. I was greatly impressed with the common sense and research-based guidance you offered, as well as your relaxed and approachable style of delivery.” – Richard Spencer, Principal, Ely College

Embrace a Holistic Approach to Academic Excellence

At Cambridge Academic Performance, we believe that academic success is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about cultivating a healthy mindset, resilience, and a balanced approach to learning. Our services are designed to empower students, staff, and parents alike, providing them with the tools and strategies they need to navigate the academic journey with confidence and ease.

By embracing a holistic approach that addresses the personal, emotional, and academic aspects of learning, we aim to create a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters growth, well-being, and the achievement of educational goals. J
